Urban Innovation Initiative
The Initiative features a regular Urban Innovation Ideas Competition that explores solutions to topical and timely issues or projects relevant to the successful urbanisation of Australia’s cities. The Initiative is consistent with the ULI’s global mission and couples creative thinking by tomorrow’s leaders, with mentoring from sector specialists to disrupt traditional thinking and to develop cutting edge ideas to transform cities.

The 2018 Urban Innovation Ideas Competition received a record breaking number of entries. Our 2017 competition was won by Urbis’ Nick Stevenson for ‘The City Stitch,’ which focused on reconnecting people from all walks of life with nature in a Brisbane ecosystem of subtropical gardens, co-working spaces, public plazas & residential towers.
