The ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance is a research organisation focused on climate mitigation and makes the business case for green buildings by tying carbon reductions to increased asset value. ULI Greenprint also includes a worldwide membership alliance of leading real estate owners and developers committed to improving the environmental performance of the global real estate industry, striving to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030, and achieving net zero carbon operations by 2050. ULI Greenprint is organised within the ULI Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate, which also oversees the Urban Resilience Program and the Building Healthy Places initiative.
The real estate industry is at a critical point to decarbonize as governmental regulations, investor pressures, and transition risks are at an all time high. Ultimately, the goal will be to reach net zero, but it can be difficult to know where to start or how to push forward. The ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance frames the journey to net zero as a six step process.
The ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance is dedicated to helping real estate stakeholders accelerate their progress to net zero. There are three work streams that contribute to the mission of the center: The Greenprint Community of Practice, Decarbonization Thought Leadership, and Technical Assistance.
Over 120 real estate organisations are members of the ULI Greenprint Community of Practice. These members regularly meet to discuss their successes and challenges as they decarbonise.
